Is it based on repetition? Kids want something fun. Yes — the students expect to be entertained. And we can use that to our advantage. Here are several writing activities that my students have really enjoyed. If your students are extra techy, you can even provide them with a digital journal.


You can simply fold and staple a few pages and let the students decorate the cover with stickers, pictures, or just with markers and crayons. The important thing is learning self-expression. Tell them to write or draw what they writing activities throughout the day. How they brushed their teeth, what breakfast they had, writing activities, how they prepared for school…anything.
